Although we are not "technically" considered an alumni association, we are somewhat structured like one. An alumni association makes a stronger Shaw University and increases the value of a Shaw U degree. We need to be reminded that the level of alumni participation must grow for us to do what is required to implement change on campus.

Alumni Achievement and Recognition

The most effective way to increase the value of a Shaw University degree is to showcase the accomplishments of our alumni. We are extremely dedicated to recognizing these individuals through our website! Highlighting alumni achievement brings credibility to the university’s many programs and makes Shaw desirable to those with similar aspirations.

Through the Friends of Shaw, alumni should ALWAYS always have a place within the University and the University will always have a place in the lives of alumni. Growth and recognition of the University will ensure the true value and impact of a Shaw University degree.

Representation

Shaw U has a huge constituency. It's alumni base consists of more than 10,000 people. We want to serve as an additional voice of the alumni and represent alumni concerns and priorities to the University administration.

The Friends of Shaw are committed to helping the University recruit excellent students. A strong network can demonstrate that Shaw is more than just four years of college; it is a lifetime of pride and passion. Your interaction with students through the Friends of Shaw can solidify relationships with the University.
